Why 2010 is Rotten

I have not had a good start to the New Year. So far, 2010 stinks. In fact, I demand a re-do. Here’s why:

1. I could not have fun on New Year’s Eve because of my sickness and the fact that it felt like someone was stabbing my ribs every time I coughed, moved or breathed.

2. I had to go to the ER on New Year’s Day first thing in the morning. At the ER, I discovered that in addition to bronchitis and bruised rib cartilage, I also had pink eye. This did not bode well. I should have seen the foreshadowing of what was to come and gone back to bed until 2011.

3. I could not ski all weekend, as planned, because of my illness/rib pain.

4. I am still not feeling that much better. Yes, my cough seems to be gone, but I’ve still been loading up on the meds, so I’ll find out whether it’s truly gone when they run out either today or tomorrow. And my ribs are still hurting, so no gym time or fun can be had.

5. I forgot to put sugar in my tea on Monday morning so it tasted terrible.

6. I have hardly slept because of snoring, noise from the heat, coughing, rib pain and our loud neighbors.

7. I “ate” some really awful ramen on Monday night that I paid $15 for. It’s really sad when you go home from a restaurant hungry and then eat cheese, crackers and sort of stale cookies for dinner.

8. I got a message on my TV from Comcast saying that my service may be interrupted because they are “upgrading” (i.e. forcing everyone to get more equipment so Comcast can get more money) and I need to call this number so I don’t lose any channels. When I called said number they told me I shouldn’t be getting the channels in the first place and so there is nothing they can do to help me. Oh but if I want to continue getting the channels, I can fork over $55 a month instead of the $17 I pay now.

9. My Wii Fit told me my fitness age is 37.

10. I ripped my new car registration sticker when trying to put it on in the freezing cold, so now I need to call the RMV. Why do they send stickers in the middle on winter in New England?! What’s wrong with changing them in summer when you can actually find your license plate because it’s no longer covered with snow?!

That’s my 2010 in a nutshell so far. A truly great start to the year, let me tell you. I can hardly wait to see what the rest of the year brings. One good has come out of all of this though, things can only get better from here. I think.

I am sorry to learn you are not having a good start for 2010. I hope that you feel better ASAP and have better days for the rest of 2010.

I also wanted to tell you, I work for Comcast. I can reach out to my contacts to see if we have a promotion that will allow you to continue watching the channels you currently have at a low promo price. Email me and include the phone number on the account if you are interested.
