February may be the shortest month of the year, bu it already feels like the longest. This week has been completely crazy and hectic … and it’s not even close to being over! I usually hate to wish the time away, but knowing that the entire weekend is going to be consumed by a short trip to Florida for my grandpa’s funeral is really not making things any better. I’m looking forward to seeing my family, but I wish we were meeting under different circumstances. I’m going to hang out with Carly tonight though, which should be fun and take my mind off of everything else that’s going on. I’m also going to get the Girl Scout Cookies I ordered from her, which will definitely help perk up the week.

I finally got a book to read, “The Unpossesed: A Novel of the ’30s” by Tess Slesinger, which I read about on the book calendar that my dad gave me for Christmas. It’s really great because so far, I have only heard of one of two of the books reviewed each day, so I’m discovering a ton of new books to read. Obviously not every one is my taste, but I have a little stack of the pages ripped off to request from the library. (Thanks for a great gift dad!)

I’m getting really excited for my and Mike’s trip out to Colorado later this month. It’s still three weeks away, but I think we both really need a vacation right now and it couldn’t come at a better time. I’m really excited to get away alone together, get outside to do some skiing, go out to some great restaurants and relax in a different environment away from the computer, cell phone, etc. I definitely need to re-charge like that every so often and this trip will provide the perfect opportunity.

*Thank Goodness It’s Almost Friday
